7:30 am – Yard opens.
Morning feed 8:00 am – Turn out 5 pm – Evening feed 9:30 pm – Final hay-up/check 10 pm – Yard closes For
the benefit of the horses we have a peaceful set routine; this is valued
highly by those who stay at Bentley House Stables. We do of course
accommodate individual horse and rider needs. For example, we may adjust
the availability of grazing depending on the horse’s workload and bulking
tendencies. Similarly we would not leave horses out for long periods of
time in wind and rain. Above all we aim to structure the horses’ routines
so that they are as relaxed, happy and natural as is possible. Upon arrival
new horses are wormed immediately with our current routine wormer.
Newcomers are always introduced carefully and considerately by turning out
into an introduction paddock until settled. Although
all yards probably have similar aims, we know that these objectives can
truly only be achieved on a small high quality yard with consistent and
competent handling. Unlike other livery yards all of our extended team are
experienced and qualified professionals in their fields.
