Hacking and local facilities Safe
hacking in all directions is available from Bentley House Stables in the
quiet undulating lanes of the picturesque Staffordshire Moorlands. There
are some public access off road riding facilities available (Bridleways)
within very easy hacking distance. Just 1.5 miles (2.5km) away there is the
disused Biddulph Valley railway line which has been turned to public access
and is ideal for hacking and longer exercising at a higher pace. Just
a short drive away – 5 miles (8 km) is the nationally renowned Somerford
Park with a whole range of excellent facilities for the equestrian
including a new equine clinic.
Also just 5 miles away is Smallwood
Livery Centre which boasts a truely superb new X-country
course up to approximately British Eventing pre-novice height. We
are ideally located – right in the heart of the Cheshire/Staffordshire
competition hot-bed yet just 40 minutes drive from Manchester. Being
situated in a popular tourist region there are several good hotels
and Bed & Breakfast establishments nearby. The M6
Junction 18 is 10 miles (16 km) away giving direct access North and South.
The towns of Congleton, and Leek are a few minutes away and Macclesfield
slightly further.
